Too many times I've read doujinshis and fanfics wherein the authors break the 4th wall waaaaay beyond the acceptable limit. Sure that sort of plot device can be very funny, but you shouldn't rely on JUST that to give your stuff humor.

I respectfully have to disagree, on the grounds of only one man: Deadpool.

Deadpool: The fourth wall shall NOT be intact.

I mean, I agree with you about how there should be more humor sources than just the fourth wall breaking, but I like it when there isn't a fourth wall to begin with.
