Fighting back my happy tears, I replied,

"Well, with you guys around I promise I'll try my hardest!"

"That's the idea!" Luffy grinned at me, "We'll head back to Merry now, but we'll see you again tomorrow ok?"

"Ok! Thanks again!" I said as they all rose and headed for the door.

Shortly after they left I quickly sat down at the bar counter, pulled out my journal, and began recording everything that had taken place just a short while ago. First time in my life someone cool actually gave a fork about me, I wanted to make sure I never forgot it.

7. The Tragedy of the Bullwhip Pirates

After sitting in quiet thought for about another half-hour I suddenly became aware of how hungry I was, meaning I would have to return to the pub. This thought kinda made me nervous, but I knew it would be a worse idea to just stay outdoors all night. So bolstering up the few nerves I had I headed back to the tavern.

It was after closing time when I got back, so the bar was practically empty except for a certain group.
